Creative Ways to Give the Gift of Time

Gift ideas to help you savor time with loved ones.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s the treasure of spending time with our loved ones. Although the holidays may look a little (or a lot!) different than in previous years, we can still enjoy time together – we just may need to be a bit creative! Here are some fun ideas for gifts that can help you savor time with loved ones, whether near or far.

Our family has enjoyed many virtual visits with parents, siblings, and cousins, thanks to this handy device. The screen comes in various sizes and includes a smart camera that automatically adjusts to the action as people talk and move around (which is very helpful with kids!). Unlike video chatting with a mobile phone, there’s nothing to hold, so you can truly relax and enjoy time visiting – a gift in itself!

2. Photo Gifts

A great way to savor time is to capture the memories to replay again and again. Photo gifts have been a favorite in our family for years. It can be something as simple as an ornament frame that holds a cherished photo or a high-tech digital frame that displays a collection of images. Another great option is a personalized, custom photo puzzle that the recipient can enjoy putting together and then preserve with puzzle adhesive to display and enjoy as a wall hanging. When it comes to photo gifts, the options are nearly endless with photo pillows, wall hangings, desktop calendars – you can even customize an engraved watch with a photo. Whatever you decide, photo gifts are always unique, personalized, and appreciated for years to come.

3. Games

Every year in addition to individual gifts, Santa brings our family a few new games for our collection. As our kids grown the games have changed from classics like Chutes and Ladders to more challenging games like Concept, but the memories they’ve made will always be treasured. Games come in all shapes and sizes, so even if you’re shopping for a veteran gamer you’ll definitely be able to find something they don’t have yet. Some of our family’s favorite outdoor games include Bocce, Cornhole, Kan Jam, and Bottle Bash. You can even find many of the classics being made into oversized pieces to be played outside like Yahtzee, Jenga, and Chess and Checkers.
